Dear reader,
This was a devotional I did years ago on February 4, 2014. While it may have been written then, its words matter even more now in this world. Honestly, it felt a little cringy to read through this because, well, I was a younger me. I could feel the emotion in my words where I was trying to pierce through the veil of rejection in an effort to find worthiness in my life. But that's a story for another day.
We focus too much on what we do wrong and neglect what we do right. I got tired of it and God saw that. So He came and rescued me from this torture that I was putting myself through. Do you find yourself torturing yourself too? Be rest assure you are not alone, my friend. The good news is God saw our pain and came to experience it firsthand himself in the flesh.
And you know what? He brought Grace with him.
So as you read this, consider these questions..
What's my purpose in this world?
What distractions are keeping me from experiencing the Grace God has for me?
What is one thing right now that the Lord is revealing to me through this devotional?
May the Lord bless you with His abundant grace always,
The Grace Anthem

Romans 8:28
New Living Translation (NLT)
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."
Ever feel like God punishes you for every small little bad thing you do? You aren’t alone. I feel that way too. That no matter how hard you try to make the right choices, you always end up back where you were before, except you feel even more broken than ever. Does ever get to that point where you feel like God doesn’t love you at all? I’ve been there too. I just feel completely unworthy of His Love. I feel that my raggedness is too much to handle for Him. Sound familiar? If you feel this way, just think, He knows about all of that. He knows what I do. He knows what you do. He still loves you and me anyway regardless of how broken and unworthy we are.
Ever feel meaningless, just completely unworthy? Look to the trees, the sky, the stars, the planets. See how everything has meaning and purpose? Look how everything works so intricately with one another. No one thing is out of place. They function daily, not stopping for a second. The sun rises and sets, the stars give light to the night sky; the trees give us oxygen and take our carbon dioxide in return; the Earth rotates at just the right axis so the Earth is not too hot and not too cold. I mean..just wow. It’s incredible when you think how everything is taken care of around us. Even within our own bodies, our organs function in just the right way, having a specific job to do, so that we are able to live. Take it down even further and consider how our bodies are held together through a protein called Laminin that resembles a Cross. From as big as the universe to as small as a molecule, there’s purpose for everything.
So, if everything has purpose and meaning, then surely God has a purpose and meaning for us. We matter to God. You matter to God. Let that sink in for a second. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, so that we may have life, a bountiful, eternal, incredible life that is out of this world. He did this all because He loves us and wants us to know the Glory of His name personally. There is nobody like our Yahweh. The creator of the tiniest flower to the whole entirety of the universe; He is our Great and Good God. No matter how hard you try, remember God will rescue you when you fall. It’s in Him, we are able to find meaning, purpose, and love. We may think we can find these things in girls, guys, objects, sports, jobs, sex, porn, popularity etc. alone…but we can’t. I cant. You can’t. no one can. It’ll all fall away just as fast as it came in. And we will never be fully satisfied with the desires of this world.
Like a tree planted in a storm but not rooted, it will quickly be picked up and carried off, like it was never there to begin with. But a tree rooted, rooted in the rich soil of God’s word, and watered with God’s overabounding love, will help it endure and become stronger as if gaining character; that will press onward and live through the storm of distractions and desires of this world. So seek God and you will find love that renews day-to-day giving you purpose and meaning through the truth that God is with us always. He loves you and wants you to take part in His work. Our purpose is revealed in His Love and not in the faulty, self-indulging, temporal tides of desires of the storms that hits us in this world. Follow Him, for he was, is, and always will be our deliverer for a more incredible, blessed life full of purpose.
May the Lord bless you with His abundant grace always,
Brandon
